Here is a powerful "Traveler 044" son, stemming from the Heather Lass cow family.  "Ole" had a 90 lb. birth weight, adjusted weaning weight of 703 lbs. (with no creep) and was the top gaining bull on test with a 1345 lb. yearling weight to ratio 110.  His dam has the following production record: BW 2 @101, WW 2@105, YW 2@108.  Grand dam production:  BW 7@99, WW 7@102, YW 5@102.  Besides all of his maternal excellence, "Ole" scanned a 15.4 inch ribeye, while having an adjusted scan weight of 1220 lbs.  "Ole" also gained almost 300 lbs. while breeding over 25 cows in natural service as a yearling.  There will be over 50 calves born this spring, sired by this young herd bull.

Words from Gary Krauth:
Big Rok Ole is one of the best bulls I have ever seen as a yearling. He also amazes me at what he continues to do. He had a 45 cm scrotal at a year of age and is very fertile. We recently had him collected and froze 1000 units in just three collections. He has tremendous libido and his disposition is quiet and very easy to handle . "Ole" comes from a tremendous cow family originating from the Van Dyke cow herd in Montana. He was bred in the Big Rok Angus program in Minnesota, who has a powerful cowherd. I encourage anyone to stop by and see their cattle, you will see one powerful cow after another. Also make sure you ask to see the Big Rok Heather Lass 236 cow. She is what every Angus Cow needs to look like and comes from the same cow family as Big Rok Ole 450.

Knowing all of this and seeing it first hand there was no hesitation on our part to purchase this future super star. We feel that he can move our program forward in the traits we are wanting. He will be used on a good many VDAR Traveler 275 and VDAR New Trend 831 daughters. We are also confident that his sons can upgrade our commercial customers programs. "Ole" is the most well balanced bull we have ever used. He has a lot of thickness, depth of rib, length of body, fullness in the heart girth, front end extension, and has a strong top line. We have not pushed this bull and he still weighs 1860 lbs. on a 6 3/4 frame at 22 months of age on a high roughage ration. Over all he is more than what I ever expected him to be and what I feel is a cattle producers dream come true. We are expecting over 40 calves from him in our herd in 2006.
