Here is an ET bull that is a G D A R Traveler 044 son out of one of the top donor cows ever to walk the pastures in the Big Rok Angus program, Big Rok Polly 510. Her record is BW 6 @ 108; WR 6 @ 111; YR 5 @ 105; %IMF 30 @ 98; REA 30 @ 101; Rib Fat 30 @ 99; Rump Fat 30 @ 94. Six daughters have an average WR of 105 on 13 calves.
The Olson's have said and printed in their sale catalog that "Polly 510" is the best cow they have ever bred. You are more than welcome to contact the Olson's at Big Rok and ask them yourself about the performance and production of this powerful matriarch. She is a thick, deep made, easy fleshing, high maternal cow with a picture perfect feet, legs, and udder still today.
We purchased this bull because of our belief in the the program this bull came out of and the cow power behind him. We also were impressed with the calves we have and seen out of the other sires by Traveler 044 x Big Rok Angus bred cows.
Big Rok Traveler 517 came to us as a yearling, developed on a very high roughage diet. He was turned out to grass right away and bred cows for us. He developed very well while breeding cows. He was wintered with the cows on a mixture of 1/2 ground hay and 1/2 ground corn stalks that was fed once a day, not free choice. We never fed him any grain and he stayed in very good condition.
You can see by the amateur picture that this young Traveler 044 son is a long, smooth made bull having good thickness, depth, and muscle that goes down low in his rear quarter. He has a large scrotal size and is very athletic. He has an excellent disposition. We are expecting him to sire daughters like his dam and stout made bulls that will sire the same type of cattle. That is putting the mark pretty high for this young herd sire.
His first calves have all had moderate birth weights and when these weights are turned in, we should see his birth weight EPD drop. Most of his calves are in the 70 pound range. We are seeing excellent growth, thickness, and depth in them that also are showing a lot of style. I have said over and over, it is hard to sell ugly.
With the price of semen on his sire reaching the $100.00 per straw, don't miss this opportunity to purchase semen from this young herd sire out of the tremendous proven donor, Big Rok Polly 510. Save every daughter he sires.
