Auction Selling 14 yearling Angus bulls
|
Dear Cattle Producers and
Friends,
We
want to take this opportunity to welcome all of you to our Twin Oaks Angus Farm
Bull sale. We are very pleased with the development of the genetics
we are offering today.
We
know that you are aware of what it takes to stay in the cattle business and the
numbers that are the most important to you is the number of dollars made on your
cattle. We are confident that you will find the quality offered here will help
you in making your cattle purchase decisions.
We
appreciate those who have bought bulls from us in the past and look forward to
working with you and new buyers.
The
cattle were weaned on a high roughage starter ration. It is a 50 Neg balanced
ration. We left them on this throughout the development of the bulls and
heifers. The bulls were fed to gain 3 to 3 ½ pounds per. On a side note: our
heifers are fed to gain 2 pounds per day. We
do not feel it is good for seed stock to be fed a high energy diet or fed to
gain as much weight as they possibly can as we think it hurts the longevity,
fertility, and maternal traits they are bred to have.
All
our Angus has been tested negative for PI-BVD.
All our Angus bulls and heifers
are developed in large dirt lots where they have plenty of room to exercise.
All our Angus bulls must pass a Breeding
Soundness Exam given by our area veterinary that also includes a minimum scrotal
measurement to qualify for our sale.
We
have always put our focus on our cowherd. We know good bulls come from good
cows. We do not believe in single trait selection be it birth weight only, milk
only, performance only, or carcass only. We strive for balance traits
where the offspring show their potential in developing muscle, depth and length
of body, easy fleshing, and performance.
We have developed our cowherd for over 20 years where high producing cow families have been identified. We know you still sell cattle by the pound. Muscle weighs more than fat.
First
Breeding Season Guarantee
Since there is no longer
affordable insurance available on breeding bulls, we will no longer be
responsible for the injury of the bull for their first breeding season by acts
of nature such as lightning or floods, or the management of the buyer
for example: in the case that the bull is injured by fighting, or running with
multiple bulls, or gets hit from the side while trying to breed cows, or jumps a
fence, or comes up lame, or over use of a young bull (over use will be
determined by a veterinary), or excessive heat, etc. We cannot control
this and will not be responsible.
These bulls will be sold sound and vet inspected. If a problem of soundness is noticed when being sold, it will be announced from the block and the buyer assumes responsibility of his/her purchase if he/she wishes to purchases the bull.
If the Angus bull is not injured, we will guarantee the bull to breed the first breeding season. The first breeding season is defined as a 90-day period when the bull was first turned out. If the bull will not breed and is not injured and is verified as a non breeder by a vet, the buyer will have the option of a replacement bull if available, or 100% of his purchase price as credit toward the purchase of another bull at our next available sale. Full salvage price goes to Twin Oaks Angus Farm.
If there are any
questions you have about the cattle, the data collected, or if we can be of any
assistance in your selection please contact us.
We sincerely
appreciate your interest in our program,
Brian & Ruth, Brad & Jackie Weaver, Josh & Julie Stilley

of the two Big Rok Ole 450 sons in our sale. Again, these bulls were
developed on a 50 NEG diet for your benefit. You will see how lean these
bulls are from their ultra sound Rib Fat and Rump Fat figures. They have
been developed not pushed. We
lost his momma, a 1st calf heifer, late in the summer from
lightning but look at the natural depth and thickness of this bull that is
bred in not fed on. |

out of a 1st calf heifer that did an excellent job for us. You
will find 3 lines of SAV Bandolier 1916 in this bull’s pedigree. It
sure looks like the Bandolier 633 daughters are carrying on the same
performance traits as his sire’s daughters. Check out the weaning and
yearling weight this bull turned in. Excellent
cows behind this bull. The GKAF Lucy’s are a top cow family in the Gary

is one of our Bandolier 633 sons that shows what the Bandolier genetics
will do. They will have good performance and ultra sound data. Look at the
size of this Ribeye compared to his Scan Wt. It is way past 1 inch per 100
pound ratio and all on a 50 NEG ration. Strong
cow power behind this bull. Save all the daughters for your next
replacements. The

Bandolier 633 son who has really come on from his rough start in life. His
mother was powerful cow and was struck by lightning when he was 3 months
old. He has done it all on his own. He had a ways to go to catch his
contemporaries and his figures are pretty good for the start he had in his
life. This line bred Bandolier son should sire good performance in his
calves. Look at the Ribeye compared to his Scan Wt.

Bandolier 633 son who turned in another good set of figures for both
performance and ultra sound on a 50 NEG diet. As you can see it is a
Bandolier 633 and Big Rok Ole combination that I mentioned before that
works well for us. We also have found that when we double up the Bandolier
in a pedigree it gives us the type and kind that works well in the pasture
and feed yard. |

calving ease is in Northern Lad. He has been used in heifer projects to
get small calves but it is a bonus to get the growth from this calving
ease bull. He was purchased from Big Rok Angus because of the strong
maternal traits behind him. He has done a real good job for us. Look at
the data this son has turned in. Polly may be one of the most sought after
cow families in the Angus breed at this time. A deep, thick Northern Lad

ease deluxe. A Northern Lad son out of a Mytty In Focus daughter. This
bull was a twin with a heifer and the mother of this bull did a good job
raising twins and getting bred back on time. Our
Lucy cows continue to work their hearts out so saving replacements out of
this bull would be a very good decision.

You won't find any manicure jobs on these cattle. We
believe the cattlemen and cattle women can see how good the cattle are without a
fancy haircut. I like to see them in their everyday clothes so that is how you
will see them in this sale.
The last week of April we treated the cattle with
Dectomax
Our cows are vaccinated with Pfizer’s PregGauard
Gold FP 10 which is a MLV vaccine that includes IBR BVD PI3 BRSV Vibro Lepto.
The bulls are vaccinated with ViraShield 6 Vibro
Lepto Novartis.
While the calves are nursing the cows we vaccinate
our calves with Novartis Vira Shield 6 killed and Schering-Plough Clost. 7 way
with Pinkeye killed.
After the calves are weaned we give two rounds of
Bovi-Shield Gold 5.
