'We the People'
as
members of the American Angus Association (AAA) we openly pledge our support for
the Rules and Polices set forth at this time by the Board of Directors of the
AAA in regard to the emergence of Arthrogryposis Multiplex (AM, formerly Curly
Calf) and encourage them to continue this policy for those other defects as
identified by the AAA in order to insure the Integrity and continued Success of
the Angus Breed.
as members we come from many different backgrounds and philosophies and
environments yet we all share the common bond of Angus cattle, we all strive to
produce the best product possible using any and all tools as we determine
HOWEVER the continued growth, success and future of the Breed must be built upon
the strong foundation which can not and should not be undermined by enabling the
continuation of genetic defects, our customers demand more of us, we should
demand more of ourselves.

members we commend you on your leadership thus far and wish for your continued
diligence as our elected representatives.
Also we have had requests by non members who would like to show their support for the Board of Directors of the AAA for the Rules and Polices they have set forth. With that said we would ask all the non members of the AAA who wish to participate, who know the influence the Angus breed has on the cattle industry, to please state your non member status to us and we will put an * in front of your name for people to see your support.
Thank you to everyone who supported this grass roots effort to endorse the AAA policy on AM and for future genetic defects as a workable method to rid the breed of lethal recessives whilst maintaining useful lines of cattle.
